New Patients
It’s been a while. That’s okay.
We’re here when you’re ready.
Whether it’s your first visit or your first visit in a long time, we’ll meet you where you are.
First Visit
What to Expect at Your First Visit.
It starts on the phone. When you call, the person who answers is going to take the time to understand what you actually need — whether it’s a routine cleaning, a specific concern that’s been bothering you, or you’re finally getting back into a chair after a long stretch away. That conversation shapes the appointment we put on the calendar for you.
When you arrive, the goal of the visit is to listen first and examine second. We’ll talk through your dental history, any concerns, and what you want for your own care. Then we look. Then we explain what we find — plainly — so you can make informed decisions about what to do next.
The appointment is unhurried. You will not be rushed in or rushed out. The aim is that you leave with a clear understanding of where things stand and a plan that you, not we, agree with.
If you have anxiety about the visit, tell us when you book. We can talk about whether IV sedation makes sense for you — either now or later.
For Returning Patients
Haven’t been to the dentist in years? You’re not behind. You’re right on time.
Plenty of the people in our chairs haven’t seen a dentist in years — sometimes many years. Maybe a past experience was rushed or judgmental. Maybe life got in the way. Maybe the anxiety is real and has been for a long time. None of that is something we’re going to lecture you about.
The team here is trained to welcome lapsed patients with warmth, not guilt. If anxiety has been the barrier, IV sedation is available in-house and our entire team is trained to support sedated patients. You don’t have to decide on any of that before you call. You just have to call.
“Not sure where to start? Reach out — we’ll help you figure it out.”
Common Questions
Questions, answered honestly.
- I haven’t been to the dentist in years. Where do I start?
- Start with a phone call. We’ll listen first, talk through what you’re working with, and put an appointment on the calendar that fits the actual situation — not a generic new-patient slot. There’s no need to have a plan before you call. That’s our job.
- Do you offer sedation?
- Yes. IV sedation is available in-house. Dr. Vandervoort is credentialed to provide it, and every dental assistant in the practice is trained to assist with and monitor sedated patients. That means the full team supporting you knows this work.
- What technology do you use for implants?
- Cone beam CT imaging and digital intraoral scanning. We plan every implant case with those tools before treatment begins, so you know what to expect and so the placement is as precise as it can be.
- How do you build a treatment plan?
- Around you. Every plan is individualized to your goals and your desired level of care — not a standardized checklist run against your chart. We’ll tell you what we find. You decide how to act on it.
- How long has the practice been here?
- Over forty years at this location. Dr. Will Vandervoort purchased the practice in 2018 and has carried that legacy forward while expanding the clinical capabilities.
Whenever you’re ready, we’re here.
No pressure, no rush. We’ll meet you where you are.
