Dental Implants
A lasting, natural-feeling replacement for missing teeth — planned with precision, placed with care.
What Implants Are
A replacement that acts like a real tooth — roots and all.
Dental implants are titanium posts surgically placed into the jawbone, where they fuse with the bone over time and act as a stable foundation for a custom crown. Unlike a bridge, an implant doesn't rely on neighboring teeth for support — the replaced tooth stands on its own, looks completely natural, and functions like the real thing.
Implants can replace a single missing tooth, several teeth, or serve as anchors for a full arch restoration. We use cone beam CT imaging and digital intraoral scanning on every case to plan placement with accuracy — so we know exactly what we're working with before the day of treatment.
Dr. Will is credentialed to provide IV sedation in-house, which means most implant procedures can be completed comfortably at our Tuscaloosa office without outside referrals. From your first consultation through the final crown, you stay with a team that knows your case.
A dental implant consists of a titanium post, an abutment, and a custom crown — all working together as a complete tooth replacement.
Cone beam CT lets us plan implant placement in three dimensions before treatment begins.

The Process
What to Expect with Dental Implant Treatment
Implant treatment takes place over several months. Here's a clear picture of the general timeline and what each stage involves.
Consultation & Planning
We take a cone beam CT scan to evaluate your jawbone from every angle and confirm you're a good candidate. If bone grafting or a sinus lift is needed, we'll discuss it here. You'll see the same images and understand the full plan before we schedule anything.
Implant Placement & Healing
The titanium post is placed into your jawbone. Over the next four to six months, it fuses with the bone — a process called osseointegration. Sutures, if necessary, are removed about two weeks after placement, and we'll check in to confirm integration before moving to the next stage.
Final Crown Placement
Once integration is verified, we take digital scans to fabricate your crown. About three weeks later, your custom crown is placed — and you leave with a fully functional, natural-looking tooth. Total treatment typically runs five to six months from implant placement to final restoration.
