Dental Sealants
A simple, painless way to protect teeth from decay — especially in the grooves that a toothbrush can’t fully reach.
What Sealants Are
Protection where a toothbrush can’t always go.
Some teeth have fine grooves and pits that accumulate plaque — not because someone isn't brushing well, but because the grooves are too narrow to allow even a single toothbrush bristle inside them. When plaque builds up in these crevices, it can lead to cavities and decay that routine brushing simply can't prevent.
Dental sealants address this directly. A thin plastic coating is brushed onto the chewing surfaces of the teeth — most often the back molars — filling those narrow grooves and creating a smooth, easy-to-clean surface. The result is a physical barrier between bacteria and the enamel underneath.
Sealants are one of the most straightforward preventive treatments we offer. The application is quick and completely painless — no drilling, no numbing, no recovery. We'll let you know honestly whether sealants are the right fit for you or your child, and we'll explain what to expect.
Sealants are applied quickly and painlessly — no drilling required.
Sealants make it easier to keep back teeth clean and cavity-free.

The Process
What to Expect at Your Sealant Appointment
From start to finish, applying sealants takes only a few minutes per tooth — here's how it works.
Cleaning & Evaluation
We clean and dry the teeth to be sealed and evaluate the grooves. If sealants are the right call, we'll confirm it here and walk you through what the application involves.
Surface Preparation
An acidic solution is briefly applied to the chewing surface to roughen it slightly — this helps the sealant bond securely to the enamel. The tooth is then rinsed and dried.
Application & Curing
The sealant material is painted directly onto the tooth surface, flowing into the grooves. A curing light hardens it in place — and you're done. No wait, no recovery.
